Too many athletes with disabilities face isolation, cost, and lack of access to adaptive sports. Angel City Sports tears down those walls— creating pathways to play, compete, and connect through free equipment, inclusive events, and an empowering community.

Volunteers are the life blood of Angel City Sports as we grow our support for the Paralympic Movement providing adapted sports opportunities for thousands of people with disabilities every year.
From event volunteer, to program ambassador and our leadership council, we have an opportunity for you.
Our Adaptive Sports programs include Wheelchair Basketball, Adaptive Golf, and more! Volunteers will receive professional instruction from the Angel City Sports
Staff during the extension of the program.
Responsibilities may include:
- Setup:
All volunteers will aim to arrive at the Program Location 30 minutes before it begins
Be able to lift 20 pounds or more e.g., tool bag, sports equipment, wheelchairs, tires
Transport sports wheelchairs, basketballs, pumps, golf clubs to designated location
- During Program
Volunteers will assist with registration for the Program, if athletes have not registered, we will guide them to register on ACS website
Interacting with Adaptive Athletes and assisting them in the current sport if needed
Providing additional support to ACS Staff, Coaches, or Assistant Coaches when needed
If there is available equipment, we would recommend volunteers to hop in and play
Cheering on and motivating all Adaptive Athletes during practice and competitions
- Wrap-up
Volunteers will organize sporting equipment before transporting (e.g., tires on wheelchairs, balls in their carrying bags and air pumps in tool bag) to assigned location
Everyone will work as a team to transport sporting equipment to designated location
Scan the area for personal valuables, lost items, and trash to keep a clean environment

Volunteer at a flagship event or multisport day
Each one of these events is unique and may be held over the span of one or multiple days. Volunteers will join optional zoom trainings before these events to cover safety protocols, be on the same page regarding event logistics, and to learn about the adaptive sports offered.
During the event, volunteers will receive professional instruction from the Angel City Sports Staff and our current Leadership Team. Volunteers will receive information packets with updated information regarding event time, address, duration, and responsibilities leading up to the event day!
Outreach Ambassadors will represent Angel City Sports during in-person events, phone calls, virtual meetings, and other opportunities.
The goal of this volunteer position is to spread awareness about adaptive sports, inform the public about our organization, and build a larger community of adaptive athletes!
This team will be in frequent communication via email and phone calls while also meeting regularly through zoom meetings for Outreach Training.
Responsibilities may include:
Attend zoom training meetings which consist of learning about our ACS history, expanding on upcoming outreach events, and going over organization strategies
- Estimated time commitment
- 6-8 hours per month
- In-person Outreach events range from 2-4 hours two or three times a month

The Angel City Sports Leadership Team works together on the development of flagship events such as the Angel City Games, Courage Weekend, Para Golf Classic Tournament, and our Multi-Sport Days!
Diverse leaders collaborate as a team to ensure the procedure of an event is done with the highest quality.
Volunteers who are interested in joining the Leadership council must submit their updated resume and letter of intent, showing experience and interest in transforming the lives of many people while also helping lead the Paralympic movement.

- Our Leadership Council will meet online or in person for 1.5 hours and provide 5+ hours of support on Event Days

Youth Council
The Angel City Sports Youth Leadership Council are seeking highly motivated students who have completed 6th grade, up to 12th grade, that are eager to learn and advocate for youth and adults with disabilities. The Youth Leadership Council is a premier volunteer experience program to develop young leaders and gain involvement in the adaptive sports community.
